No matter what Punxsutawney Phil predicted, you can start now to plan decorating with bright colors for Spring.  You don’t have to do anything major to add Spring accents. You could put some daffodils or tulips in vases around the house.

But if you do want to do a little bit more that doesn’t cost much, read on.

Add In Nature Decals

Look at places like Pottery Barn for decals like cherry trees full of blossoms that you can put up on your wall temporarily. You could also look online at etsy and cafepress.

Look for Whimsical Ware

Go to your local Sur La Table, Williams Sonoma, Target, or similar stores, and look for plates, cups, serving utensils, and bowls that are Spring themed. Look for brightly colored table cloths or napkins to add a splash of design to your usual decor.

Colorful Add Ons

If you have wood or tile floors, you can change the look of the room with a small rug. You can update a neutral toned room with cushions or inexpensive drapes. You can find these things inexpensively at places like IKEA or don’t forget to check out your local thrift store. To update a bathroom, find a brightly colored shower curtain, and towels. Brighten your bedroom with slipcovers to go over your comforter. That way, you can change how it looks without the cost of a new comforter.

Which Colors?

Turquoise and tomato are the hot colors for Spring right now. But if you just want to add a pop of color, look for bright citrus colors like orange and yellow.  And then add in the classic Easter egg colors like blue, purple and pink.

Do you want to decorate your whole home or just a few areas?
